It wasn't until Delphi 1.0 arrived back in the mid '90s that I became a serious Windows application developer. I had dabbled with Microsoft C++ (which eventually became Visual C++) and Visual Basic, but neither thrilled me -- C++ required deeper Windows API knowledge and dozens of lines of code just to display a 'Hello, world' window on screen, and Visual Basic at that time was too simple and constrained to write any serious, low-level Windows applications. ...Read more
